2008/04/12 - For You & Happy Animal Friends

It feels like I drew this ages and ages ago.  Right now I can't work in markers any more since somehow I have become more scared of mistakes!  I wonder if Alex really is a devious one or not.  The person on the left makes me think of Saint Juste-sama from Oniisama-he.

And animal friends can be great, but at times they just don't know when to stop.  Ha ha, poor girl!!  But doesn't it look like fun?!  The koala seems to be having the most fun.  Wheee---  Well, either way, I don't feel like writing interesting descriptions any more.

2008/05/29 - All these people.

Drawn in my Moleskine sketchbook while I was travelling.  I really like the quality of the paper.  It brings out really wonderful things from my pencil and lets the pencil move freely, creating fine and exciting lines.

Click on the image for the larger size.

The person in the center is Oscar.  He appeared several years ago in 2005 and already then I had kind of decided what kind of person he is.  Vivien looks a little crazy, even more than Justine.  Mi is scared because of all these people surrounding it.  Help!  I haven't drawn this kind of sketch with people layered over on another in a long time.  I used to do this all the time several years ago when all I used to do was draw heads.

I have all of these characters but no story to tell.  Won't a story come to me soon?  Maybe all I can do is illustration.  I want to draw comics. *sniff*

2007/05/16 Boogie Woogie Mi

The weather is decent today, so here is a very happy Mi dancing to celebrate the unrainy day.

Trying to get some serious drawing done, but it's not working out.  Easily lose faith in self. OTZ  And Mi's happy dance is not helping. D:

2007/05/22 New style? Exciting projects?!

Can you believe it? Starting this sketch journal I actually started to draw more. Even though I still have loads and loads of old stuff scanned in that I have yet to post here, I'm not being too lazy about it and actually drawing new things to post up here.

Anyway, I'm taking tomorrow and the weekend off from posting in this blog to work on actual comics!!! And other more important things!!! So here's two sketches for you.

I'm working on a multi-mini comic featuring Gilles & Sylvie with Louise as well! Yay! D: It will be a deluxe mini with many parts and handbound with a handprint color cover(?) and will cost more to produce than the reasonable selling price, but I'm making it anyway FOR FUN. :D It will be so cool. Maybe I'll just make a run of 50 and after selling it all (HA! As if I could do that! XD;) I'll just put the contents up on the web to show that yes, I still do draw comics from time to time.

Also, starting work on Ogata doujinshi because Ogata is the cool--- I wouldn't call myself otaku or anything, but sometimes it's okay to indulge in these kinds of things once in a while especially when I get to work with the coolest and funniest bunch of people in the making of this book.

2007/04/08 MI ATTACKS!

Mi likes to jump... on people's... heads!!!!  Because it's really fun!  You should try it sometime!  But only if you're a nice and cuddly and cute animal thing.

2007/02/14 Georgie likes animals

Georgie tries to impress the girls by showing them that he can play with cute animals, but Milly is far from impressed especially when both are being stuck in a small corner.  Poor Georgie.

2006/10/30 & 11/07 Introducing Mi

This is Mi, a character I had created.  I thought Mi is a dolphin but it seems more like a "bird fish" at times.  I don't know.  It's a weird animal thing... that doesn't like water and speaks Vietnamese and is yellow and very small.  It used to be Mi the Yellow Dolphin, but now I'm not too sure.  To translate the Vietnamese: "Mi an nhieu qua" = "Mi ate too much."  "Mi chon" = "Mi is hiding."

I draw a lot of comics about Mi but none are good enough to show you.  But here was one I had drawn in my journal anyway:

In the last row Mi says, "Om Mi," which means "Hug Mi."  Then Mi says "Mi vui," meaning Mi is saying it is happy.  You will see Mi appear in many of my other sketches from here on so I had decided to introduce Mi now.  I draw Mi a lot when I am stressed.  Sometimes there are entire pages that are nothing but Mi.  Mi is a special and unique creation.  I don't want to see anyone take this away. (*_*;  So I say now: Mi (c).  XD;
